“wars and rumors of wars…” Mat. 24:6
In an article entitled EMP: America’s Achilles’ Heel, Frank Gaffney, of the Center for Security writes:
How An EMP (electro-magnetic pulse) Weapon Works
A nuclear weapon produces several different effects. One is the intense heat and overpressures associated with the fireball and accompanying blast. But a nuclear explosion also generates intense outputs of energy…If the latter are unleashed outside the Earth’s atmosphere… [it] will generate an enormous pulsed current of high-energy electrons that will interact with the Earth’s magnetic field.
The energy of this pulse would reach everything in line-of-sight of the explosion’s center point at the speed of light… at a height of 300 miles, the entire continental United States, some of its offshore areas and parts of Canada and Mexico would be affected.
The effects of such a blast would be to “pull the plug” on all electronic-based technology, such as electrical systems, computers, gas pumps, refrigeration units, radar, airplane control panels…you name it. And the U. S., more than any other country in the world, depends on being “plugged in.”
Several rogue terror-sponsoring nations are capable of unleashing an EMP Weapon on the United States.
Our response, According To The Bible…
If this EPM weapon is available to rogue countries, and if it could be introduced against this country, and if our security forces do not develop an antidote to it, then it could fry all of our electronic technology. That is a lot of “ifs.” However, America is not mentioned in Bible prophecy, although some stretch the Scriptural texts to make it appear so.
Jesus said in Matthew 24:7 that “nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.” In Bible prophecy, the United States is not the kingdom that emerges from this global conflict as a world power. In fact, in the End Time prophecies the U.S. is missing from among the major players! At the very least, something will bring this nation to the point where it succumbs to the Antichrist.
In Bible prophecy, the absence of America, in light of the fact that we are the top superpower in the world today, is notable! However, there are a few strong inferences in Scripture regarding the U.S. One is the effect of the Rapture on this country. We still have many Christians in the heartland, and many in important roles. They would all be gone in an instant, surely throwing our society into chaos.
Here are the only two remedies that you and I have available to us regarding what we can do for our country:
1. Vote for godly people for public office.
2. Pray according to Jeremiah 18:7-8,
“if that nation against which I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent concerning the calamity I planned to bring on it.”

…and authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation was given to him.“ (Revelation 13:7)
Another scenario with Biblical support is that the Antichrist will simply overrun a weakened America. Daniel 11:39 throws light on this.
“And he will take action against the strongest of fortresses [this Hebraic word’s modern equivalent is “superpowers”] with the help of a foreign god [Satan]… (Daniel 11:39)
But the biggest threat to America is its move to oust God from His historic status as the God behind the founding principals of this great land. Our executive, legislative, judicial halls, and public education enclaves are in the methodical process of removing any references to our godly heritage. This, in essence, is a re-writing of our history books and a re-enculturation of our population. This sorry denial of our Judea-Christian heritage has now crept wholesale into our pulpits. There is a divine limit to God’s patience!

The Bible Says: that nations are judged on the basis or their stance toward the Lord.
“Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a disgrace to any people. (Proverbs 14:34)
A Question for the Bible Experts
Is America Mentioned In Bible Prophecy ?
(excerpted from Mark Hitchcock, “101 Answers,” p. 33)
There must be a reason that America is not specifically mentioned in Bible Prophecy. Mark Hitchcock supports the most common view:
There is a [reason] that I feel best explains the silence concerning America in the Scriptures: America will become a third-rate nation overnight at the Rapture. The Rapture will be God’s judgment on America.
Consider this fact. If the Rapture were to happen today, the United States would probably lose more people per capita than any other nation in the world. At the Rapture, the Islamic nations in the Middle East would feel almost no effect at all. But the U.S. could become a third-world nations overnight. Millions of home mortgages would go unpaid, the stock market would crash, and millions of productive workers would be suddenly removed from the workforce.”
