Q.

Some believe that Judas may be the Antichrist because he is called “the son of perdition.” Could Satan bring Judas back to life at the End Time as the Antichrist? -Mr. Williams

A.

The answer is no. Satan has not been given the ability to raise the dead. Here is what the Bible says, Only Jesus holds the keys to resurrect the dead.

“I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades. (Rev. 1:18)

Jesus will only resurrect to life those who believe in Him. Jesus said …

“I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me shall live even if he dies… (John 11:25 —The resurrection of Rev. 20:13-14 is unto death)

God will not allow an imitation of the resurrection of Jesus Christ because the resurrection is the proof that Jesus is Lord. He has “fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead.” (Acts 17:31)

God will not give His glory to another, and that glory is manifested in the Resurrection of Christ.

… God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God. (1 Pet. 1:21) “I am the LORD, that is My name; I will not give My glory to another, Nor My praise to graven images. (Isa. 42:8)

Remember, people will worship the “graven image” of the Antichrist, thinking he has been resurrected (it will be a fake resurrection). Since only God can raise the dead, if He were to give that power to Satan, He would “give My glory to another,” which He says He will not do. It may be said, however, that Judas qualifies as one of the “many antichrist” who precede the final Antichrist.

Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have arisen; from this we know that it is the last hour. (1 John 2:18)

I'm just beginning to consider this issue. I found it referred to in a 1940s book on prophesy. I agree that Satan will NOT be allowed to literally resurrect Judas, however, the references to the son of the devil and perdition are interesting. Another suggestion is that Judas was literally, not just figuratively, a demon and his death was only apparent. We must, of course, be careful not to stretch Scripture in order to make an interesting hypothisis more plausible.

I believe all twelve disciples are commissioned by God to judge Israel during the millennium. So yes Judas is 'in the house'

    Question:

What was meant by calling Judas the Son of perdition?
